LAS VEGAS – Aqua Management, Inc., a Las Vegas, Nev. based company, has announced today that it has moved some of its parts manufacturing from overseas to a Las Vegas based contract manufacturer.
The company has moved production of its circuit boards from a China based manufacturer to Competitive Components dba Nevada Assembly Service (CCI/NAS), based locally in North Las Vegas, Nev. Prior to this manufacturing agreement, all of Aqua Management’s circuit boards were produced in China. The company made a conscious decision to find a local partner.
“Our goal was to find a manufacturer that was competitive in pricing while providing the highest quality. When we started our search for a new manufacturer we set out on a company mission to find one located right here in Las Vegas. Competitive Components came highly recommend and we are very pleased with their quality,” said David Drake, founder and CEO of Aqua Management.
“When we looked at Nevada Assembly Service saw a company, like ours, that has not only survived but thrived during the recession. We wanted to give something back to our community. Las Vegas has been a great launching point for our business, but let’s face it; the economy in Las Vegas is struggling right now. The more we keep our business local the better it is for the local economy,” Drake added.
“When most people think of Las Vegas they think of hotels, casinos and gambling,” Drake continued. “What most people don’t know is that Las Vegas is becoming a technology center as well. We are proud to call Las Vegas home to our corporate headquarters. There are a lot of advantages to doing business in Nevada and Las Vegas and we are glad we could find the right manufacturing partner in Nevada Assembly Service.”
Aqua Management’s demand for parts has increased dramatically in recent months as the company has expanded its business both nationally and internationally.

LAS VEGAS – Aqua Management, a Las Vegas based engineering and service company, today introduced Aqua Connect™, a new irrigation controller plug-in device designed to overcome the communication and programming challenges of Rainbird ESP-MC Maxicom controllers. The device allows for central control, web-based programming and management with full ET/weather based irrigation.

The device consists of two parts, an interface board and a modem. When attached, Aqua Connect™ links the controller to the internet and allows programming through any web-enabled computer, laptop, iPad or cell phone. The product is designed to bypass the system’s CCUs and communicates over a GPRS modem, so no phone lines or radio communication are needed. The software is built into the system through Aqua Management’s server, so there is no need to purchase additional product specific software. The product is designed to fit into Aqua Management’s service portfolio where there is no up-front cost for the equipment. Service is provided via a monthly service contract.

David Drake, founder and CEO of Aqua Management, said “as an engineering and service company we are constantly creating new products based on demand. Our goal is to be the leader in the irrigation industry in service. The first step to being a leader in service is developing user friendly, cost effective products that overcome existing challenges and provide the user real solutions. Aqua Connect™ is in line with our company’s goals and our customers’ needs”, Drake added.

Aqua Connect™ connects quickly and easily to existing Rainbird ESP-MC controllers. The directions are simple; remove the existing interface panel, unplug the ribbon cable, plug in the Aqua Connect™ panel and the controller is now on-line.

“Our goal was to create a low cost, simple solution for our customers”, Drake said. “A huge percent of smart irrigation systems in the field are underutilized because of communication or design issues. We did not want to continue the trend of product driven solutions. Our goal was to create an intuitive solution, utilizing the existing hardware, and bringing these controllers on-line where they can now be centrally and remotely managed. Our motto is ‘service driven technology’, and that is exactly what we have accomplished with Aqua Connect™”, Drake added.

Aqua Connect™ is now available directly through Aqua Management, Inc. or through select resellers nationwide.

LAS VEGAS – Aqua Management is happy to announce that they have been approved for a rebate on their residential smart controller (AQR) from the Southern Nevada Water Authority (SNWA).

The residential controller is a high tech irrigation clock used for watering outdoors (Toro 424-E with Aqua Technology).  Aqua Management’s technology allows this irrigation controller to self adjust to local weather conditions and is programmable remotely through the internet. These technological advances mean that a homeowner can reduce their outdoor water use by an average of 20-30% or more.

David Drake, CEO and founder of Aqua Management said, “smart irrigation technology had been available for years, however it has really only been used for commercial and multi-use properties. Demand from the market led us to create a low cost solution for the residential customer. I figured if businesses were looking to save water and money that the average homeowner would want to do the same thing.”

The rebate from the SNWA cuts the equipment cost in half for the homeowner.

“We are thankful to the SNWA for approving our product for this rebate. We know that the more affordable you make this technology the more people will implement it”, Drake said. “People want to do the right thing by saving water today, and if they can save money on their water bills at the same time it’s a win/win situation.”

Drake added, “Aqua Management is a service company first and foremost, so our goal is to provide a low cost service with the controller to make it easy for people to use. You can program these controllers from our website, call your landscaper, or call our 800 #. Once they are programmed our technology takes over and they self adjust to weather conditions. This, in conjunction with the programming, is where the overall savings comes in. The SNWA likes these controllers because they will automatically adjust to the seasonal watering day restrictions we have here in Southern Nevada”.

By providing constant training and support we have created a true win/win situation”, Drake said. “Without or partners, from the landscapers to the businesses and communities that use our services, we would not have been able to achieve these results. LAS VEGAS – This Saturday, March 27th, 8am to 1 pm, Aqua Management will debut their new smart residential irrigation controller at the Springs Preserve in Las Vegas, NV at the “Spring Plant Sale and Conservation Event”. The event will feature desert plants for sale and information on water conservation practices from the local landscape and nursery community.

At the event Aqua Management will be demonstrating their new “smart” residential irrigation controller. The new controller is designed specifically for homeowners. Through its’ “smart” technology, the controller automatically adjusts to local weather conditions, thus reducing water consumption by 20%-30% or more. The controller will also automatically adjust to seasonal programming changes, including watering day and time requirements by the SNWA (Southern Nevada Water Authority).

David Drake, CEO of Aqua Management said, “We are excited to introduce our smart residential controller to the public. Our primary customers are commercial, HOA and multi-family properties. Because of the great water and cost savings results our customers have realized we have had a huge demand from the public for a residential unit. Our engineers worked very hard for the past year to not only make this product available, but to also make it affordable”. The controller, with its’ monthly service from Aqua Management, will allow customers web-based programming and insure that the proper amount of water is being used for the homeowners landscape. “The average homeowner isn’t a landscaper, so this is a great tool for them to keep their landscapes healthy and to conserve water at the same time. In today’s economy, homeowners and families are looking for any way they can to cut their expenses, and by reducing their outdoor water bills by 20% to 30% or more this is an easy way for them to do that”, Drake added.

The Spring Plant Sale and Conservation Event is this Saturday, March 27th from 8am to 1pm at the Springs Preserve, 333 S. Valley View at US 95 in Las Vegas, NV.

LAS VEGAS – Due to the success of their “one free month of water-saving service” to new customer’s promotion, Aqua Management has extended the offer through April 30th, 2010.

“Our goal was to help prepare the community for the hot, dry summer months. We know that water savings equals cost savings for our customers. By offering this incentive to our landscape partners, such as Jaramillo Landscape and Maintenance, TruGreen, Par 3, Neville Landscape Services, Sunstate Companies and ILM (Integrated Landscape Management), we know that we can help them better manage their customers water. These landscapers are already the best in the industry, and by providing them with our cutting edge technology we give them the best tools possible to help their customers,” said David Drake, CEO of Aqua Management.

“Our controllers self adjust to local weather conditions and this saves water. 20 to 30% or more in most cases. The ability for our landscape partners to fine tune the programming of the irrigation system with our web-based application gives them the ability to save even more water. Plus, they can do it from the comfort of their office, or from any web connected laptop,” Drake added.

Aqua Management’s controllers will also automatically adjust to the local water authorities water schedule/restrictions. The Southern Nevada Water Authorities (SNWA) water schedule changed to 3 days a week on March 1st, while the summer water schedule (any day) starts May 1st.

“By adjusting to the watering schedules automatically our controllers save in a variety of ways; they save water, and they save the landscaper time and money by eliminating the need to send someone to the site to manually change the programs,” said Drake. “Better technology exists to help both the property owner and the landscaper; our mission at Aqua Management is to get the technology in the right hands at the lowest cost possible. This truly creates a WIN/WIN for everyone.”

The offer from Aqua Management is for a limited time, and only while supplies last.

LAS VEGAS – Aqua Management has now partnered with Sunstate Companies, a leading landscape maintenance company, to further help Southern Nevada businesses save money and water.

One of those businesses is the Suncoast Hotel and Casino. Sunstate Companies recently installed smart controllers on the property to more effectively monitor water use.

“Water rates and conservation are on the minds of our clients,” said Rene Navarrete, maintenance division manager with Sunstate Companies. “It’s vital that we’re able to monitor and make adjustments to irrigation schedules quickly.”

Aqua Management CEO David Drake, an engineer who founded the company after spending years designing high-tech water controllers for other manufacturers, said real-time monitoring of weather conditions is important to maintaining landscaping. At the same time, he said his company’s proprietary technology and ongoing client service manages the use of the desert’s most precious natural resource – water.

Controllers developed by Las Vegas-based Aqua Management do just that. By monitoring real-time weather and soil conditions, Aqua Management’s system can make immediate adjustments. This includes detecting a water leak or changing watering times as the Southern Nevada Water Authority recommends.

“The partnership with Aqua Management enables us to take a proactive approach to proper water management in Southern Nevada,” Navarrete said.

About Sunstate Companies
Sunstate Companies was founded in 1987, and over that time has built a reputation as a landscape design, construction and maintenance company that is as reliable as it is imaginative. Horton, Warmington Homes, American West Homes, Boyd Gaming Casinos, Benchmark Properties, and Terra West just to name a few. For more information, visit www.sunstatecompanies.com.

LAS VEGAS – To prepare the community for the hot summer months to come, Aqua Management is offering all new commercial customers one month of free service. This offer is for commercial customers who sign up for Aqua Management’s water-saving services from Feb. 15 to March 31.

“As the warm months fast approach, there is no better time to start going through a spring and summer checklist,” said David Drake, CEO of Aqua Management. “Soon, the local watering cycle will change to only three days a week, and for systems not being serviced by Aqua Management, this means each controller needs to be reset.”

Aqua Management monitors its water controllers remotely. This means the watering cycle is programmed into the system and automatically reset each time the Southern Nevada Water Authority’s watering schedule changes. There is no need for the company’s customers to check each individual controller to ensure it is set correctly.

This saves time for the landscaper, according to Drake.

The offer from Aqua Management is for a limited time, and only while supplies last.

Aqua Management smart controllers save homeowners money

LAS VEGAS – Valley residents looking to save money on their water bill may want to consider installing a smart controller to monitor water use. By monitoring real-time weather conditions, smart controllers developed by Aqua Management can help homeowners save water and save money.

Aqua Management now offers individual homeowners the chance to purchase its smart controllers directly from the Las Vegas-based company that currently serves numerous business customers. By using the Southern Nevada Water Authority’s (SNWA) instant rebate program and an instant rebate from Aqua Management, the cost for the first year of service is about $12 per month, which Drake said is offset by savings on the customer’s water bill.

“We’ve received inquiries about the controllers from residents interested in cutting their water bill,” said David Drake, Ph.D., CEO of Aqua Management. “Our controllers offer homeowners an easy way to monitor water use.”

Aqua Management works with various landscape companies to install the controllers for the homeowner, just as the company does for its commercial customers. Programming the controller can be done by Aqua Management, the homeowner’s landscape company, or by the homeowner via the Internet.

“It was important for us to make these easy to use for people, while also providing homeowners with weather information in their own backyard,” Drake said.

The homeowner’s watering schedule, based on criteria from the SNWA, is programmed into the controller. The smart controller adjusts automatically each season, which means the homeowner only has to program the controller once.

Drake said that with so many people using the Web to manage daily activities, it was important to make a Web-based tool available to homeowners. Clients can view their water use, make changes to watering times or shut off their outdoor watering remotely using the company’s Web site.
